You can place an offer on your Facebook business page and when someone signs up for it, they’re emailed the details on how they can redeem the offer. It’s a simple process that looks to be an effective online marketing tool. You don’t have to pay to advertise the coupon or offer and it can easily be seen by those who already follow your business page.

The only major thing to take note of is that you do have to have timeline activated in order to utilise offers. A short while ago, timeline was not yet available for business pages but all of that has changed now. Once you have timeline activated, at the top of the screen, you’ll see what’s known as the “sharing tool” and you can go ahead and create your offer from there.

1. Use an image for your offer that grabs the attention of those who view your business page on Facebook. Make the discount stand out on the image and use text that’ll entice people to check it out.

2. Don’t put too strict of a time limit on the offer. While you don’t want to leave the offer open for too long, you do want to give people time to see it and decide if they want to take you up on the offer. Remember, not everyone is on Facebook every day or multiple times per day and therefore, you need to give them enough time to see it.

3. Finally, when you provide an offer, make it a real offer, not something that your business does from time to time anyway. Your regular customers will know your business inside and out and therefore, if it doesn’t seem like a good deal to them because it’s something they’ve received before, it won’t help your promotion efforts much.
