Three Ways to Improve Conversions

By Brad Hauck

If you’re looking for ways to improve your company’s conversions online, you’re in luck. There are hundreds, if not thousands of online webinars and virtual courses that claim they can show you how to increase your business’s conversions. These webinars and courses are very useful, but so are quick tips that you can implement either right now or with a little bit of work. Business moves quickly, especially on the Internet. Therefore, it’s helpful to know a few simple changes to make to your website or your online promotion methods. Here’s three to get you started:

  1. Make sure that all of your social media accounts are linked to your website and vice versa. While social media only works as hard as a company wants to make it work, it’s helpful to have all of your accounts or profiles linked to your website and then have your website linked to all of your social media profiles. Some potential customers may find you via social media and if they do, you need to give them a way to explore your company, products and services more. Potential customers also use social media to determine whether or not a company has a good reputation and if the company is trustworthy. Having everything linked together will help potential customers find the information that they want to find before deciding to do business with you.
  2. Human Assistance: With technology today, it’s easy enough for a company to automate everything. However, automation isn’t always the best idea. There are customers who will prefer to only order over the phone (even if they can do so online) and there are customers who will have questions. Having staff in place to help customers or potential customers who are looking for a more personal level of service is beneficial. Another good option is to integrate a live chat option on your website so that people can simply ask questions while they shop or check out your services.
  3. Provide accurate product or service descriptions. How does your product work? How will your service help people? Remember, promoting yourself or your business online requires you to market what you’re offering. You can provide samples of ways that your products or services have been used by people; but at the very least, make sure to be accurate and concise.

While consumers love the convenience of shopping online, it does take away from the personalized service that people often receive by shopping in a physical store. In an attempt to help your conversions, remember that you’re still selling or marketing to people.
