When you are marketing your business on Twitter, stop advertising every time you post. This may seem out there considering you are marketing, but you have to remember where exactly you are marketing. Twitter is a social networking site, so some people who are following you might not appreciate being so direct with your marketing tactics.

When you post tweets on Twitter, make sure that they make sense, are relevant are important. Avoid twittering about inane things such as what you had for lunch. You want to stick to interesting things such as letting your followers know that you just posted important new information on your website.

Whilst most of your twittering can be related to your business, keep it light and interesting to people who donít understand what you can do for them. Involve yourself in a professional manner, but also act personable and easy to get along with. People will want to know about your business, but they want to know more than just what you are doing with your business.

Lastly, never engage in a conversation with one of your followers in an unprofessional manner. As stated above, you do want to be personable but do not over do it. This person may be your customer or a potential customer and you do not want to end up offending the person with a chat or post that they may not find as humorous as you do.
